Safety Story Workshop Information

Safety is on the minds of everyone in the Air Medical Transport Industry. Unfortunately, our industry has lost several close friends and colleagues as the result of air medical accidents that have occurred in recent years.

Do you have an experience that brings safety into focus when you discuss this topic with your colleagues? Do you believe that your story is compelling enough to move others to focus on safe practices around their aircraft or ground transport vehicle? Do you wish that you could share your story with everyone in the industry? To be specific, we are looking for stories that focus on “what safety looks like”. We believe there are many people that have a story from each of the disciplines practicing in medical transport including flight nurses and medics, pilots, dispatch, ground transport crew, Medical Directors and Administration.

The Center for Medical Transport Research (www.tcmtr.org) will be working with professional writer and production manager, Daniel Weinshenker of the Center for Digital Storytelling, to conduct a three-day workshop to gather our industry’s Safety Stories. These stories will be used as teaching tools and agents for change in strengthening our industry’s culture of safety. The stories will be added to TCMTR’s library of stories on our website with the intention to use them in local and national efforts to improve air medial safety.

The next workshop coming soon in 2012

If you believe that your story could be helpful in understanding what safety looks like in our industry and you have an interest in participating in the project, please contact:
